Vahideh Abaeian

Lecturer, Co-Director International Business Minor, Management

Dr. Vahideh Abaeian is a Lecturer and Co-Director of the International Business Minor Program at 58ºÚÁÏÍø’s Leavey School of Business. She teaches Global and Cultural Environment of Business (MGMT 80) and Strategic Analysis: The Business Capstone (MGMT 162), integrating real-world cases, ethics, and sustainability into the heart of global business education. Her research focuses on responsible business strategy, business ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and the ethical implementation of artificial intelligence.

Drawing from over a decade of academic and industry experience across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and the United States, Dr. Abaeian brings a rich global perspective to her research and teaching. She is an active member of the Academy of International Business (AIB) and a frequent contributor to leading journals, such as the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management. At Santa Clara, she co-leads signature initiatives, including the Annual International Business Week and the Annual International Business Case Challenge Competition, fostering experiential learning and industry connection for her students.

Before joining 58ºÚÁÏÍø, she served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Nottingham, where she researched responsible business initiatives and corporate social responsibility in the tourism and hospitality industry. Her earlier academic career includes teaching, mentoring graduate students, and collaborating with academic and industry partners on market research projects.  

Beyond her academic pursuits, Dr. Abaeian is a passionate advocate for the arts and cultural expression. She is an enthusiastic singer and a dedicated member of the Bay Area Persian Choir, where she performs regularly. Outside of the office and the stage, she cherishes time with her family, including her young daughter and son. Together, they enjoy discovering the world through travel and embracing opportunities to learn about new cultures and create meaningful family memories. In her leisure time, she also enjoys photography, swimming, and painting. She is fluent in English, Persian, and French.
